Dublin Irish Festival Announces 2025 Honorary Chair

(DUBLIN, OHIO) — The Dublin Irish Festival is proud to announce the selection of Kent Weakley as the 2025 Honorary Chair. Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes, City Manager Megan O’Callaghan and former Dublin Irish Festival Honorary Chairs selected Weakley for his outstanding contributions to the Dublin community and dedication to the Festival. As Honorary Chair, Weakley will preside over events surrounding the 38th Dublin Irish Festival, Aug. 1-3, 2025. This role includes serving as an ambassador for the Festival year-round, starting the Dublin Irish Festival 5K and Kids Dash, participating in opening ceremonies, judging several Irish contests and leading the Festival finale. 

Weakley serves as Site Director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital Close To Home Centers in the Dublin and Marysville communities. For nearly 20 years, Nationwide Children’s Hospital has supported the Festival. Weakley and his wife, Emily, are long-time Dublin residents and graduates of Dublin Scioto High School. Emily works as a nurse at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Their son, Teddy, is the seventh-grade student council president at Karrer Middle School. The Weakly family regularly visits and volunteers at the Dublin Irish Festival. Weakley also serves his time with the Dublin and Union County Chambers of Commerce.
