City of Dublin & Central Ohio Safe Ride Teaming Up with Uber for This Year’s Irish Festival

uber-saturday-2016

(Dublin, Ohio) – The City of Dublin is partnering with the Central Ohio Safe Ride program to offer discounts on Uber rides for the Dublin Irish Festival to promote safe choices for attendees. The discounts are worth up to $10. The rides will be available with a promotional code that may be applied to a user’s Uber app for up to two trips, either to or from the festival. The code will be valid from Thursday, August 4 through Monday, August 8, 2016, while supplies last. Vouchers will not be available for taxis this year.

How the free Uber ride promo codes work

  • Guests must have the Uber app.
To download the app, go to the iTunes or Google Play, and then create an Uber account.
  • Enter the code DIF16EVENT in the “Promotions” section of the app.
  • Request a ride to or from the event
    • Patrons must be dropped off or picked up with a quarter mile of the Cab Stand/Ride Sharing area at the Dublin Irish Festival grounds. It is located on Perimeter Drive, just off Emerald Parkway, close to the southeast entrance.

Information on the Uber partnership program will be available at the Information Tent and from safety personnel, but vouchers are not necessary. Riders simply need to enter the promo code into the Uber app and then request a ride.

The City of Dublin and Central Ohio Safe Ride have been partnering to promote responsible transportation for a number of years, but this is the first time Uber is available for the Safe Ride discount.
