 Priority

As one of the safest cities in Ohio, the City of Dublin remains committed to following all state and federal laws to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for residents and visitors at the Dublin Irish Festival.

Credentials
All Festival staff, entertainers, sponsors, vendors and media personnel are issued an official credential to formally identify them as Festival participants.

Bags
Security personnel will perform bag checks at each entrance to the Festival grounds.

Prohibited items include

  • Alcohol
  • Bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, hover boards, etc., inside the Festival
  • Fireworks of any kind
  • Tents and canopies
  • Glass bottles
  • Hard-sided coolers
  • Soft-sided insulated bags larger than standard 6-pack
  • Peddling or soliciting and the distribution of handbills inside Festival
  • Pets of any kind except service dogs and registered Celtic Canines
  • Smoking under tents or in a building on Festival grounds

State and federal laws allow individuals to carry firearms in public parks, openly or concealed.

Dublin Police Observation
The Dublin Police Department performs continuous observation from the agency’s drone unit.

Weather
In the event of severe weather, staff will notify patrons and share emergency information via the Festival app and at each stage. Event staff and volunteers will also provide updates. Follow the Dublin Irish Festival on Facebook, Instagram and X, as well as the Dublin Police on X, for the latest information.

Safety Shelter Areas

For all weather incidents, please seek shelter:

  • Dublin Development Building, 5200 Emerald Parkway (east side of Coffman Park; former City Council building)
  • Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road
  • Dublin Coffman High School, 6780 Coffman Road

Rain shelters ONLY; NOT for lighting/tornado activity or winds higher than 50 mph

  • Coffman Park Pavilion, 5200 Emerald Parkway (north side of Coffman Park)
  • Festival tents

See Something, Say Something

As always, the Dublin Police Department asks residents and visitors to contact the nearest police officer for assistance if they see something suspicious or out of place.

Public Safety Partners and Programs

The Dublin Police Department is focused on effectively addressing issues of significant community concern, including ensuring a safe and comfortable Festival. That involves partnering and collaborating with the following:

  • City of Dublin staff
  • Washington Township Fire Department for medical tent staffing and response
  • Joint Terrorism Task Force with the FBI
  • Franklin County Bomb Squad
  • Statewide Terrorism Analysis and Crime Center for intelligence gathering

Dublin Police security efforts also include high visibility from uniformed officers specifically assigned to the event, plain-clothes officers, private security officers and volunteer Community Service Officers.
